enter the hipstamatic
Friday, May 21, 2010 at 16:56 For this Foto-Friday, I have to admit that I have an iPhone. And sometimes, that's actually pretty cool. The camera's one of the best things about it, and Hipstamatic - a little app that attempts to recreate an all-plastic cheapo snapshot camera from the early '80's - is one of the best things about the camera. For more, read Bill Barol's story on the actualization of Hipstamatic and my colleague JimRay's much-better weekend with the app.
I've had it for a while now, and I like it better than the iPhone's camera, because occassionally it's nudging me into shots like this:

That's the best one. Just stop reading now. It's the view from a bluff in Discovery Park.

The wall in the one hallway in my crib. Lucha mask from Oaxaca casting the shadow on a hand-painted post-Katrina sign that I picked up out of a ditch in New Orleans. That wall is cooler than I'll ever be.

The second home game of the M's season Death Spiral. They won this one. It seems so long ago.
I've got more, including a picture of some homemade beignets that messes with me like a Magic Eye, but I've gotta get back to work. If you have an iPhone, cop Hipstamatic. I'll put up a gallery at some point, Flicks is lonely.
